When I was ten years old, I told my mother that I was going to start publishing my own poems. After a year of spending the summer writing them with sidewalk chalk around the perimeter of our house, I felt that I needed something more — something tangible — to set my creativity in motion. My mother wasn’t surprised, though. I spent the majority of my spare time writing stories, creating fake magazines, writing and singing songs with my sister and wondering how I could start my own babysitting service similar to the one in the beloved The Babysitter Club books.
Fourteen years later, with seven poems published in my childhood and a short story published in John Carroll University’s coveted Carroll Review, reading and writing are still a huge part of my life. I’ve channelled this creativity into my current role as a Marketing Communications Specialist, and I constantly am finding creative inspiration through visits to art museums, reading the works of my favorite authors and just taking in my surroundings. Heck, I even watch commercials for fun because I find them to be the most interesting modern form of art… and I only watch the Superbowl for the ads.
I currently live in the amazing city of Cleveland, and I graduated from John Carroll University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
